In 1986, Peter put down roots in Macclesfield – four years before he founded Broadland Estates in 1990.
He wasn’t chasing opportunity. He was already here, already part of the community, already invested in the place and the people around him.
When he started the business, it was a natural extension of the life he was already living. Not a career move, but a commitment. A commitment to serve the region he’d chosen to call home, with the honesty and local knowledge that only comes from truly belonging somewhere.
He has now spent nearly four decades in this community. Watching it grow, watching families come and go, watching properties change hands and lives change with them. He has sold homes to young couples who are now grandparents. He has listed properties he helped buyers purchase twenty years prior. That kind of continuity doesn’t come from a franchise. Luke Jones was born the year Broadland opened.
He has never known anywhere else.
There’s a detail that says everything about this business: Luke Jones was born in 1990 – the same year his father founded Broadland Estates. He didn’t inherit a business. He grew up alongside one, watching it serve the community he was growing up in.
Luke has lived in Macclesfield his entire life. He joined the business in 2019 and became a Director in 2025 – the same year the business evolved into Broadland Real Estate. It wasn’t a reinvention. It was a passing of the torch from one generation to the next, with the same values, the same standards, and the same deep local roots intact.
When you sit across the table from Luke, you’re not dealing with someone who moved here for the job. You’re dealing with someone who has never once considered leaving – because this is home, and this community is what he’s built his life around.
Luke was born the year we opened. In a lot of ways, he and the business grew together.
